Sylvie Durand must get her failing nightclub, Carpe Nocturne, operating in the black before the utilities are cut off and her credit cards are eaten by an ATM machine. To stir up business, she decides to hold weekly themed costume parties. And it seems to be working--until she discovers a dead body in her office and learns the vampire “costumes” aren’t exactly disguises.
Burke Langton is on the run. Wrongfully accused of murder, he’s keeping one step ahead of the Excoluni--the law enforcement arm of the U.M.N. (United Magical Nations)--while tracking down the real killer. When the murderer strikes again, this time at Carpe Nocturne, Burke learns Sylvie is his Origo--his mate. He also discovers she could be the murderer’s next victim. Now he must find the killer while protecting Sylvie--and battling the potent desire she stirs within him.
Miko Dvorak is a high-ranking officer of the Excoluni. His mission is to bring Burke to justice. But that’s no easy task, for the two share an Origo. Dane must choose between the dark hunger driving him to complete the Binding, and his commitment to the law.

Sylvie Durand, nightclub owner, and mate to not one but two powerful vampires, finds her desire for Excoloni officer Miko Dvorak, every bit as intense as it was for his quarry, suspected murderer Burke Langton. She can and will love both men. She can and will serve both men. This is her future.
But life is far from perfect. The killer is still on the loose, and Burke has yet to uncover his sinister plans or clear his name. Miko is a passionate, dominant and skilled lover, yet, without completing the Binding, there will be no end to Sylvie's agonizing pain. If only the killer was caught so their triad could be complete.
Miko is torn. His career has always been the center of his life. Should he be caught protecting Burke from the Excoluni, his career will be over. Sylvie’s determined to convince him to take that risk, but it’s the agony of the Binding that will drive both Miko and Burke to a desperate act.

Reviews
Carpe Nocturne 1: Dressed to Kill grabbed my attention from the beginning... This story kept me on my toes trying to figure out what would happen next. Ms. Taylor, I am waiting on pins and needles to see what does happen next for Sylvie, Burke and Miko in your next story in this series.
Dressed To Kill is the first book in Tawny Taylor’s Carpe Nocturne series. This is a series that should be read in order. I am intrigued by this series and these characters. Burke is gentle and funny and Sylvie is amazingly accepting of the revelations Burke makes. Miko does not have a strong presence in Dressed To Kill as this story is more about the relationship developing between Sylvie and Burke. Indeed, this first installment of the Carpe Nocturne series is more about developing the groundwork for the remainder of the series. This is a series to watch as the first book is interesting and entertaining.
I believe Tawny Taylor has an excellent plot line in her Carpe Nocturne series, this episode, Carpe Nocturne 2: Kiss Me Kill Me, deals more with the characters’ emotions although the plot does move forward. We do meet the actual bad guy in this installment and he is disturbing to say the least. This series must be read in order, and I am looking forward to the next installment.
If Looks Could Kill is the final installment in the Carpe Nocturne series by Tawny Taylor. Sylvie has a lot to deal with, from her new Masters to saving her bar. She handles everything thrown at her with flair and sass. Tawny Taylor does an excellent job developing the characters and their relationships in this exciting tale. Burke and Miko forge a strong bond and when they work together, be it saving her life or pleasuring Sylvie, they do it well. I loved every book in this series and am sad to see it end. If you haven’t yet read the Carpe Nocturne series, I urge you to do so immediately!
Kiss Me, Kill Me is the second book in Tawny Taylor’s Carpe Nocturne series. This story takes up where the first leaves off and is a truly fascinating tale. Sylvie is wonderful at adapting to her new life and is accepting of the needs of her mates. Burke and Miko need Sylvie’s submission and acceptance and have very erotic ways of ensuring her pleasure. The scenes of passion are outstandingly written and incredibly exciting. The Carpe Nocturne series should be read in order and I cannot wait to read what I am sure will be a climactic book three.
